The Citizenship Amendment Bill will change the Citizenship Act 1955. Under this, citizens of Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Parsi , Jain religion coming to India from Neighbouring countries Such as Afghanishtan, Pakistan, Bangladesh will be Able To Get Indian citizenship.

Non-Muslim refugees from countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan will come to India after this bill (CAB) is converted into law, it will be easier to get citizenship here.
Because in this bill to get citizenship of India only one has to spend 6 years in India. The first citizenship grant was over 11 years. Now it has been reduced from 11 years to 6 years.

3. Will the period of residence in India be reduced?

As I mentioned above, where earlier refugees had to stay in India for 11 years to get citizenship of India, now they will have Only to live in 6 years.

That is why many allies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have also opposed it. He says that this bill is meant to make Muslims feel second-class urban. Also, this would violate Article 14 of the Indian Constitution, which states the right to equality.
